Our Chapter Creed

We, Eta Judges Chapter, have a creed which has been dubbed "Men of God, Men of Excellence". This creed was written by me, the Charter Chapter Secretary Historian, as I was led by the Holy Spirit to do so during one of our Bible studies while we, the charter line, were going through the orientation process. The purpose of this creed was and is to 1)Establish our individuality, 2)Ensure that future brothers and sisters know, realize and remember why we were founded as well as why we exist and 3)To let others know who we are, what we stand for, who we stand for, what we are about as well as who our Lord and Savior, and God is. In short, our Creed (Men of God, Men of Excellence) is our Chapter's testimony, for all who shall see and hear it. It is to let them know who we serve ("the Living God"), and who we are ("Gamma Phi Delta Eta Judges Chapter"). The Creed is as follows:

At the completion of "Much prayer, much power...G-Phi, D" the hug is broken by simply taking one step backwards and bringing the arms down to the sides in one fluid motion.

The leader of the group then puts his right fist toward the center of the circle, arm fully extended, and ask the question: "Who are we?"

Immediately after the question is asked, every member of G-Phi-D Eta Judges Chapter responds by putting his right fist toward the center, where the leader's fist is still at, and, in unison, they will say: "We are, Gamma Phi Delta, Eta Judges Chapter, Men of God, Men of excellence, Dedicated to serving the Living God, Semper Fi, A-men, ----------Huh!!!----------"

The Symbolism of Our Creed Explained

The fist is symbolic of power. The fully extended arm is symbolic of a uninterupted
and perfect path. Thus the symbolic meaning of this is that God is the center of all
our lives and He is the source of all our power (the fists in the center). Jesus is the
uninterupted and perfect path (the fully extended arm) in which the power (the Holy Spirit)
flows to each and every one of us. Our acceptance of God's gift (the Holy Spirit) and
our thankfulness for His strengths and blessings, allow us to totally rededicate
ourselves to God and to our work and use all the gifts in which He has gifted us with to
praise and glorify Him to the utmost of our abilities. All of this is declared verbally in
"Men of God, Men of Excellence". The physical circle formed by the Brothers of
Gamma Phi Delta Eta Judges Chapter is called the "Circle of Brotherhood". This circle
signifies the wheel in the middle of a wheel, with God being the center circle and we
the outter circle. This shows that it is God who turns and moves us from within.....and
that it is a zeal from within that we feel and know moves and drives us and not just a
motivation from without that pushes us to do what we do.
