For years when Rose Smith, Founder of Black Women In Business, worked in Corporate America, she yearned for an organization that catered to the professional development needs of Black Women Leaders. She wanted to belong to a group that focused on professional and personal development for US. And, the group would consist of like-minded women who inspired, encouraged and compassionately challenged each other to achieve their goals. This is the prerequisite and purpose of Black Women In Business.

It was her desire to create an environment that builds and celebrates the talents and skills of black women leaders, whether they manage people, lead their own businesses, companies or organizations, or want to start their own business. Black Women In Business will provide sessions designed to enrich and enhance your talents and skills, increase your customer awareness, maximize profit, introduce effective marketing and exceptional customer service skills. And, we will make you a Networking Pro! The sessions will be led by Rose Smith, accomplished practitioners, successful business and organization heads, life/business coaches and positive thought leaders within the community.

We will start with the basics of business, and cover every aspect to help black women become successful in their business. We will showcase talented black women who are emerging leaders, and those who are at the top-levels of their fields and/or organizations. We will create opportunities for mentoring and connecting with peers. And, we will support each other in an effort to help our businesses and organizations thrive.

Black Women In Business is a community developed through online and in person meetings and events. The goal is to meet on a monthly basis in Austin, Texas. It is our desire to grow individually and collectively while achieving our professional goals. But, most importantly, we want to create the support system we have needed and deserved for years. Please share your thought-provoking questions and comments, ideas and best practices. This page will NOT be used to sell products and/or services, because we encourage you to network one-on-one with your potential clients/customers. However, you are welcome to post your upcoming events, solicit for vendors, post business seminars, workshops and conferences and volunteer your services. Anyone who fails to adhere to the guidelines will be removed. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

We are super excited about this group! BWIB is the platform we need to become effective leaders not only in the black business industry, but effective and competitive in all business arenas. Black Women In Business can help us build OUR businesses, communities and change OUR future!
